A dog who still has almost everything to discover

Pipo is a 7-year-old brown and white speckled Brittany Spaniel, an unneutered male. He was surrendered to the shelter following a move to a home where dogs are not allowed.

In his previous home, Pipo lived outside in the garden day and night. He never went for walks and seems to have had very little exposure to the outside world. He was also not used to playing or receiving treats. Even today, toys and food rewards hold little interest for him: they are simply things he does not know.

This very limited life has inevitably left its mark. Pipo is a very fearful and stressed dog when faced with anything new. A walk, a noise, a new environment or a situation that would be completely ordinary for many dogs can be a whole new experience for him. He is wary of anything unfamiliar.

And yet, despite all his fears, Pipo seeks out human company very strongly. When he feels safe and trusts someone, he becomes extremely affectionate and likes to stay close to his people. Humans are currently his main source of reassurance in a world he still knows very little about.

House training will also need to be taught from scratch, as he has never really lived indoors.

At 7 years old, Pipo still has so much to discover that many dogs learn from a very young age: going for walks, living in a home, playing, and enjoying the little pleasures of everyday life… With Pipo, everything will need to happen gradually. Behind all his fears is a deeply human-oriented dog who simply needs someone to gently show him that the world can also be a wonderful place.
