Whisky is a 4 and a half-year-old male Nova Scotia Retriever. He is a fearful dog who missed out on socialization and quickly keeps his distance from people he encounters.

This behavior is related to a lack of socialization and fragile emotional management when facing the unknown. However, Whisky has been trained and knows several commands and "tricks" that he learned within his family. It is essential to read his signals and take his fears and limits into account, especially since he also exhibits resource guarding, meaning he protects his food or toys, which can lead to risky behavior.

For all these reasons, Whisky will need a calm and structured environment, experienced people with sensitive dogs, consistent support to work on his trust, time, patience, and understanding.

A home without young children would be preferred. With the right framework, he can still progress and evolve with experienced adopters who are ready to invest in him.
