Tia is an 8-year-old Border Collie mix who is now discovering a world she has known far too little of.
Following her owner’s move, he unfortunately could not keep her, and his new housing situation did not allow her to come along. Tia therefore arrived at the shelter after having spent her entire life with the same person.
She is very fearful and needs time to build trust. Her previous lifestyle largely explains her sensitivity: she lived with constant access to a garden, was never walked, and has never been exposed to other dogs since birth. Her world was therefore extremely limited.
Today, everything is new for her. Noises, walks, encounters, and everyday stimulation can be overwhelming. Tia will need patient, gentle, and respectful adopters who accept to give her the time she needs to gain confidence.
A calm life in a peaceful environment will be a real asset for this sensitive dog. Future adopters must be ready to undertake significant socialization work, without ever rushing her.
