Would you like to visit the animals at our shelter in Anderlecht? Our shelter is open to the public from Monday to Saturday, with different visiting arrangements in the morning and afternoon.

Here is all the practical information you need before your visit.

Our opening hours : Monday to Saturday

  • 10:00 am to 12:00 pm: by appointment only.

In the morning, the shelter is only accessible to visitors who have made an appointment with our team in advance.

  • 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm: visits with or without an appointment.

In the afternoon, you are welcome to visit our shelter and meet our animals during opening hours, even if you have not made an appointment in advance.

  • The shelter is closed on Sundays and public holidays.

Would you like to adopt an animal?

Please note: you cannot adopt an animal during a visit without an appointment.

If you visit the shelter without an appointment between 1:00 pm and 4:30 pm, you can meet the animals currently staying with us. However, it is not possible to start or finalise an adoption during this type of visit.

All adoptions require a prior appointment with our team.

This allows us to take the time to talk with prospective adopters, learn more about their home and lifestyle and, most importantly, make sure that the animal’s personality and needs are a good match for their future family.

Depending on the animal and their individual situation, several meetings may be necessary before an adoption can take place.

Why are morning visits by appointment only?

Mornings are an essential part of daily life at the shelter. Our teams are busy cleaning the animals’ living areas, providing care and meals, and carrying out their daily health and welfare checks.

Limiting walk-in visits during these hours allows our animal carers to work in good conditions and gives our animals a calmer environment.

Walk-in visits are therefore possible in the afternoon, from 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm.

Preparing your visit to the shelter

If you would like to meet a specific animal with a view to adoption, we recommend checking which animals are currently available for adoption and contacting our team before visiting.

Some animals may already be going through the adoption process, still be under assessment, receiving medical care or unavailable to meet visitors at the time of your visit.

Making an appointment therefore allows you to check that the animal you would like to meet is available and ensures that our team can dedicate the necessary time to you.
