The animal cemetery in Rosières

Our domestic animals unfortunately have a shorter lifespan than ours. While cats can sometimes live up to 20 years, dogs only live up to 15 years on average.

When that day arrives and your little companion leaves you, several solutions are available for you:

  • You can either leave it with your veterinarian, who will call an organization specializing in the cremation of animal remains.
  • If your animal has died at home, you can call your veterinarian or the specialized organization that will come and collect it.
  • You can choose to have it cremated with other animals or individually. In the latter case, you can request an urn containing the ashes of your dog or cat.
  • Under no circumstances can you bury your little companion in your garden. Belgian law stipulates that it is prohibited to bury the remains of an animal for reasons of public health and soil pollution..
  • But if you want your friend to be buried without being cremated, you can, if you feel like it, bury him in our cemetery for small animals located in Rosières

It was in 1977 that Veeweyde inaugurated its resting place for small animals. Covering an area of two hectares, this verdant little paradise already has more than 2,000 dogs and cats resting in peace there.

The burial of an animal in Rosières takes place according to the wishes of the owner who can obviously attend. The ceremony always takes place on Wednesday.

The price varies depending on the size of the box, the choice of text and the tombstone, on average 450 euros. The duration of the concession is unlimited, unless you cancel it if you no longer want to benefit from our services. The contribution amounts to 42 euros per year.

Veeweyde offers people with reduced mobility the possibility of entering the cemetery by car.
